A 7-day Dauin and Apo Island dive trip

A suggested week of diving from Bongo Bongo: Dauin's critters from the shore, a day on Apo Island's reefs, night dives, and time to relax before your flight.

Bongo Bongo dive boat on an Apo Island day trip

This is a suggestion, not a fixed package. Tell us what you'd like to see and we'll shape your week around it.

Our daily dive schedule

Our usual dives leave at 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM, plus a night dive every evening, usually around 5:45 to 6:00 PM depending on the site. Apo Island day trips meet at 7:45 AM and are back around 3:30 to 4:00 PM.

Day 1: arrive

Fly into Dumaguete. We can book a private car or van between the airport and Bongo Bongo for PHP 1,500 each way. Settle into your room, have dinner at our restaurant, and if you arrive early enough, join the afternoon dive on our house reef.

Day 2: the house reef

Start on Dauin North, right in front of us, where a fish survey recorded more than 560 species. Two or three dives get you used to the conditions and to muck diving, then try your first night dive.

Day 3: along the Dauin coast

Explore further sites, such as The Pier or Thalatta, depending on what's being seen. Our guides dive these sites every day and know where the critters are.

Day 4: Apo Island

A full day on the boat, with three reef dives, lunch and drinks. It's the wide-angle side of your trip: corals, turtles, walls and drifts. See our Apo Island diving guide.

Day 5: more Dauin, or a course

Back to the sand, or use the day for a PADI course, such as Enriched Air (Nitrox).

Day 6: spare day

Keep this day flexible. If the weather moved your Apo trip, this is when it can happen. If not, dive Dauin again, or do a second Apo day. Make this your last day of diving.

Day 7: relax and fly

Please wait 18 to 24 hours after your last dive before you fly, so plan your last dive on Day 6. Enjoy a slow breakfast and our home-roasted coffee before your transfer to the airport.

What it costs

Dauin shore dives are PHP 1,750 each with full equipment (PHP 1,600 with your own gear), night dives PHP 2,150 including a torch, and the Apo Island day trip PHP 5,900 plus a temporary fuel surcharge of PHP 600. From 10 dives we take 10% off the diving, and from 20 dives 15% (not on sanctuary fees or surcharges). Rooms start with dorm beds from PHP 500.

Add up your own week in Build Your Dive Trip, and we'll confirm the details and price with you. There's nothing to pay at that stage.
