Your guide to Dauin
Dauin is a coastal town in Negros Oriental, in the central Philippines, known for its shore diving and as a base for trips to Apo Island. Here’s what to know as you plan your stay with us.
First time in the Philippines? Read why dive the Philippines: the Coral Triangle, birds and fish found nowhere else, and what you need to know before you travel.

Where we are
You’ll find us on J. Basa Street in Poblacion 1, Dauin, about 50 metres from the town’s main marine sanctuary. Most guests fly into Dumaguete and continue by road; we can arrange a private transfer to meet you.
How to get here
Two kinds of diving from one base
Dauin and Apo Island feel very different underwater, which is why so many guests combine them.
Dauin: look closer
Dauin’s volcanic sand and coastal reefs reward a patient eye. Many dives start from the shore, and our team will help you plan them around your experience and what you’re hoping to see.
Explore Dauin divingApo Island: a day on the reefs
A full day by boat for coral reefs, reef fish and the chance to see turtles. It pairs well with Dauin’s macro diving.
Plan an Apo Island dayHow long to stay
If you can, give yourself five days or more to enjoy Dauin at an easy pace, or around seven if you’re learning to dive. That leaves room for Dauin dives, an Apo Island day and time to rest in between.
Shorter trips are welcome too. Tell us how much time you have, and we’ll help you make the most of it.

Our dive centre is about a five-minute walk from Dauin’s local market, with small shops, eateries, fresh fruit stalls and roast chicken sellers. There are a few ATMs nearby, but we recommend bringing enough cash for several days.
During the day, jeepneys, tricycles, buses and taxis leave from near the market. For more freedom, you can rent a motorbike from us for PHP 400 a day. Just ask at the dive centre.
On a day off, popular trips include Baslay Hot Springs, the Twin Lakes, Casaroro Falls, Red Rock Falls, Forest Camp, Bais and the Mabinay caves. There are also several places nearby for a massage after a day of diving, and we can arrange a private van for a day out.
